Time Well Spent

Betcha thought I forgot about posting today, didn't ya? Well I didn't!

Why is it that when I spend an entire day playing with my kids, baking Christmas cookies and writing thank you notes that I feel like such a failure when I spy 5 o'clock on the microwave?

I didn't get dinner on the table. I didn't blowdry my hair. I didn't fold or put away the laundry. I didn't accomplish any online Christmas shopping. I didn't even get the kids out of their pajamas.

But I did build a gingerbread house with William. I did rock and sing to Lucy before nap. (Love those little giggles she gives me over the top of her nukie just as she's drifting off!) I did bake four or five dozen Christmas cookies. I did teach William all the lyrics to "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells." And I did make it to my computer just in the nick of time to post these pictures of our day.

Here we go!

"Well hello there, Lucy! Did you wake up from your nap because you wanted to help?"

"Can I eat it now, Mommy?"

  1. Time well-spent indeed! You accomplished so very much...and the most important things too!

Thanks for the reminder to slow down and just have fun during this busy month of December...and all throughout the year.

Laundry and E-mails and Organizing can wait. My babies are growing up.
